More Basketball Action at the YMCA

Kaden has been very busy playing basketball at the YMCA. Karsen will begin his games on Sunday.

Globetrotters

On Wednesday evening, January 12th, we took the kids to Jasper High School to see the Harlem Globetrotters. This was a Christmas gift to them. They really enjoyed the performance and still talk about it today.

Kaden and Karsen loved the show.

YMCA Basketball Season Has Started

Kaden and Karsen are both playing basketball at the YMCA again this year. Kaden played his first game this past Saturday, and Karsen will play his first game at the end of January. They both also practice one day a week. Korben can't wait until it is finally his turn to play.

Kaden played against my cousin's son's team on Saturday so I
got a picture of them together after the game. They both did a great job.

Kaden's Surgery

Resting

Very Swolen

Kaden had to have an "unexpected" surgery on Tuesday evening, Dec. 28th. I took him to the dentist earlier in the day (10:00 a.m.) to get a cavity filled, and when the dentist was giving him a shot to numb the tooth the needle broke off in his cheek. We were sent straight to an oral surgeon who decided it would be best to send him over to the hospital where they could put him under to remove the needle. Kaden was in surgery for about an hour (5:45 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.) and was in recovery for about 5 hours. We finally made it home at about 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday. He cheek was very swolen (looked like a baseball in his cheek) and tender, but he is finally doing much better. He ate solid foods for the first time last night. We will meet with the oral surgeon next week for a check-up.

Christmas Day

After we opened our gifts at home we attended a dinner to celebrate Christmas with my mother's side of the family. We were in charge of the arrangements this year.
My grandmother with all of the grand and great-grandchildren present at the dinner.

My grandmother with all of her children.

After the dinner with my family we had another dinner with Kory's father's side of the family. We had a $1.00 gift exchange and played "dirty santa". We all had a great time.

After we left that celebration we traveled to Kory's parent's house to exchange Christmas gifts with them.

The day after Christmas we celebrated again at Kory's parent's house with his brother, Kyle. Kyle had to work on Christmas day and could not make it home before then.
